URALSIB Capital Announces a New Appointment

Alexei Devyatov has been appointed as Chief Economist at URALSIB Capital’s Research Division. Devyatov will head a team of macroeconomic analysts responsible for analyzing key events and trends in the Russian and international economy and economic policy, as well as for preparing macroeconomic reports and forecasts and marketing our analytical products.
Earlier, Alexei was a Chief Researcher at the Centre for Economic and Financial Research at the New Economic School where he provided scientific supervision for the Centre’s projects and research activities. For instance, he implemented a number of projects to develop economic growth forecasting models and methodologies for Sberbank and the Russian Ministry of Economic Development.
From 2002 to 2007, Devyatov pursued his academic and educational career in the fields of macroeconomy and monetary theory as a Professor of Economy at the New Economic School. In this capacity, he managed a number of projects for the Noncommercial Foundation for Enterprise Restructuring and Financial Institutions Development and for the TACIS program.
Devyatov graduated from the Faculty of Mathematics and Mechanics at Moscow State University, where he specialized in mathematics and applied mathematics. He obtained his second degree, in economics, from the New Economic School. Between 1997 and 2002, he was a postgraduate student at the University of Pennsylvania, receiving a PhD degree in economics.
